‘The Artistry Of A Scalp Ritual’ is a sweet spot behind the chair, a healing artform of hair energetics and scalp wellness for whole body synergy. Creating unique multi-sensory experiences & rituals alongside a signature scalp massage.

A scalp ritual menu for healthy hair is supported by monthly Memberships for clients to energise their whole being regularly. All things natural beauty, sustainable styling, ritualistic services, scalp nourishment, and wellbeing from the inside out.

Famous for effortless, lived in colour that grows out with a natural feel. Ceremonial experiences that support life transitions and scalp release that leaves you feeling blissed out and relaxed.

Services are curated to suit the individual with both male and female services available. An Initiation is required for all new clientele, with Personalised Styling Sessions and Wedding Packages available upon request.

Guests receive country hospitality with homemade goodies baked by my Mum, Valda alongside offering a broad range of organic coffee and delicious herbal teas.

Our skin is our largest organ, and EVERYTHING you put on it absorbs into your bloodstream within 26 seconds. That includes our scalp! That toxic load affects our whole system, including our hormonal and nervous systems, triggering all sorts of dis-ease and disharmony in the physical and emotional body.

All that I have studied, learnt and continue to educate myself on is creating a new awareness. An awareness of nourishing my body, staff and clients with a fume-free, low toxin space aligned with the earth's integrity, our bodies, reducing our footprint and paving a new way. All whilst continuing to develop my art and creative flare.

THE CLEANER AND GREENER APPROACH

In 2010, I first opened my salon JC's Inspirational Hair, back then I was a fresh-faced 18-year old with big dreams and ambition. I was lead down the path of an alternate 'cleaner-greener" approach to the hair industry as a point of difference.

Much has evolved, changed and grown in business and within myself. Deep down the core of my heart and values are the same. I may not have known it initially, but going green, was by far one of the best decisions I ever made.

Almost 14 years on and I'm more passionate each day about creating an environmentally and health-conscious business. I'm driven to build awareness and educate the industry to be more environmentally friendly and health-conscious.

This is not a trend, this is a lifestyle.

about the founder

Owner and Founder Jessica Carey has worked in the industry for over 17 years - not only has she lived and worked around the world, but she is an Award-winning Hairstylist and a highly regarded Australian Educator and International Speaker.

Jessica is cultivated a unique pathway in the industry with a sustainable and eco conscious approach since 2010 when she opened her salon doors at the ripe age of eighteen. She has run a successful salon team in the early days and now as an independent hairstylist in her bespoke home studio.

She is a master in her field with holistic services, scalp rituals, bouncy blow-dries, lived in colour, with a special love for grey transitions that feel natural. Her knowledge and expertise are unmatched, so if a world class experience that supports your self-worth from the inside out is what you're after, she is your woman.

Appointments with Jessica are limited behind the chair and require a Consultation process, as she has a dedicated and loyal clientele, so it is best to secure something well in advance.

Jessica spends a lot of her time Educating as a Business and Wellbeing Mentor within the industry, as well as online and in person Retreats, Workshops and Speaking Events.

REWIND over A DECADE

I was a 2nd year apprentice,

Doors opened and I hired staff to support finishing my training, completing both my Certificate III and then my Diploma in Salon Management. I had a keen eye for fashion work and styling, receiving 2nd place in the Darling Downs WorldSkills Competition very early on. This path continued winning CHI Colourist of the year in 2013 and many other creative cutting and colouring awards over 2013 and 2014.

After 4 years in the centre of town,

I closed my salon doors in July 2014 to solo backpack through Europe before landing in London and working for 6months in Soho and Crouch End. The industry was not as clean and ethical as I had anticipated at the time. I landed my dream job but I was burnout outm running on empty and missed the Aussie sunshine. It was then I realised I was well ahead of the game in my approach to the industry and how I wanted to continue my career with longevity. I flew home, lived a few months on the Gold Coast, before returning to my country roots. In late 2015 I reopened my doors, rebuilt my clientele from scratch, and studied Barbering and Trichology. Knowing exactly how I wanted to rebuild a business that supported me financially, my health and the lifestyle I wanted. .

Fast forward 8 years

I have a thriving small business where I work 3 days per week, no Saturdays and see clients one-on-one by appointment only in my lush home salon. My lifestyle is balanced both beyond and behind the chair so I can show up fully to serve my clientele. My intention is to create a space to exhale and unwind for each person who walks through my salon door. A space for self-care, education, wellbeing and cultivating a calm nervous system. I create a peaceful space and play some good tunes, so a warm hug envelopes you at the door.
